Come Out for Compost for Brooklyn Workdays!

Make your neighborhood worth showing off! Compost for Brooklyn, located on Newkirk Avenue and East 8th Street in Brooklyn, is excited to announce two upcoming street gardening workdays starting on April 15th at 10 AM! Come spend a few hours with neighbors, make new friends, and help beautify the streetscape. The final spring workday will take place May 20th, also at the Compost for Brooklyn garden. There’s more: These workdays will culminate with a tree giveaway on June 3rd at 11 AM!

Compost for Brooklyn is a volunteer-run organization committed to composting organic waste, restoring urban ecosystems, and sharing knowledge in our local communities and beyond. Join a Garden Just in Time for Spring!

The Southside Community Garden is welcoming the spring and opening its’ gates on Saturday, April 7th at 11 AM! Join them in a kickoff meeting of the garden, and learn what you can do to be apart of this sustainable green space. Located on the corner of South 4th Street and Hewes Street in Williamsburg, the members of this Southside garden encourage members of the community to join in the effort to make their neighborhood a brighter place. Bring a friend and come on down!

Volunteer on Earth Day in Columbus Circle!

Volunteer to help kids learn to live sustainability in New York City on April 22nd from 12 – 4 PM! Border Crossers needs some awesome volunteers to participate in the Earth Day Block Party Celebration. Located on W 61st Street near the Columbus Circle stop of the 1,2,A,B,C, and D trains, the celebration will be jam packed with activities for elementary school kids!
