Jamaica Bay Cleanup for Earth Day

This Earth Day, April 24, from 10am – 2pm, why not head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge? ALS is hosting a cleanup and planting and you should join them. More details here.

It’s a beautiful place and is one of the most important urban wildlife refuges in the United States. Its 9,155 acres are an important stopover point for more than 325 species of migrating birds. Also, due to introduction of native species and creation of conducive habitat, Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge is the home to breeding reptiles and amphibians, small mammals and butterflies.
