In the past few weeks, we’ve seen so many everyday people all across the country organize to support their neighbors and care for front-line medical workers in their community. It’s been heartening to see these generous acts of care, and we hope they’ve lifted your spirits too. As more and more neighbors continue to step up to take action we wanted to share a new opportunity to support COVID-19 response efforts in your own community. 

Wherever you are in the United States, when you crowdfund for a COVID-19 relief effort with ioby we’ll double your donations dollar-for-dollar up to $8,000. 

In addition to this match opportunity, we are also waiving our fiscal sponsorship fee and our $35 platform fee for projects that crowdfund to respond to COVID-19 and its impacts in your community. For COVID-19 response projects, the only fee you will be charged is a standard 3% donation processing fee, charged by our third-party processor. 

We know that, wherever you are, you’re likely feeling the impact of this public health crisis. We’ve also heard from so many in our community that you’re eager to step up and offer care to your community, and what you need most is support in doing so—fast. When you share your idea with us, you’ll be able to build your crowdfunding page immediately, and we’ll get back to you within two business days to let you know if your project is eligible for this match opportunity. We’ll also reach out to offer support, resources, and advice as you crowdfund for your project.

There’s so much we can do now, even as we practice safe social distancing. Neighbors are organizing digital learning for kids doing remote learning, collecting funds for relief for immigrants many of whom were left out of assistance programs, are funding food banks to offer community dinners and to help keep local restaurants afloat, and much much more.
